Come and See

For us, we come and see Jesus in the Holy Scriptures as we gather for worship, read them on a daily basis, and meet together in Bible study. As we do that, the Holy Spirit works in us a heart of love which doesn't think first and foremost about what we can get out of Jesus, but gives thanks for what He has given us and want to share Him with others, just like John's disciple Andrew did when he went to find his brother Simon whom Jesus renamed Peter.

Is there someone you know whom you would like to invite to know Jesus? Begin with prayer, asking that the Holy Spirit guides things to make clear to you opportunities you may have to invite that person to come and see. It may be a worship service, or possibly a Bible study. Perhaps it is through sharing one of the free New Testaments we have available or one of the Project Connect pamphlets on the rack by the south entrance.

The person may not end up joining Beautiful Savior (or maybe so), but the Holy Spirit has used you to begin the process as you invite the person to come and see the One you know and worship. Thus, our mission statement is not, "Inviting people to know Beautiful Savior," but "Inviting people to know Jesus, and providing opportunities to grow in His love."
