Each morning as students and staff enter Beautiful Savior, temperatures are taken. For the fun of it, I like having my temperature read twice, first as I enter the building and then in the office. I have yet to have the same reading by both thermometers.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love, but many are looking for it in all the wrong places. The Holy Spirit would lead us to know true love in Jesus and share it in a world desperately in need of it.

Yesterday afternoon, my wife Ellen and I spent some time at Kohler-Andrae State Park along Lake Michigan. The park holds many memories for us as both of our families would go there when we were growing up.

Imagine eating fake fruit. It would taste awful. Real fruit is a gift of life, and the fruit of the Spirit is the result of life with God.

With this session, we begin looking at the final vision in Daniel. God, in a sense, draws back the curtain to see the greater war that is raging throughout history.

Have you ever read through a section of the Scriptures that you’ve probably read or heard dozens of times and suddenly had a totally different perspective? That happened to me this morning as I was walking from home to church and listening to my daily reading.

This week as we continue discussing the Ten Commandments, we acknowledge that we know what the Commandments mean. How then do we put them into practice? Next week we will continue the series by learning about the 9th and 10th Commandments.

Keeping the 8th Commandment and putting the best construction on things is very difficult. What a gracious God who puts the best construction on us that we can build others up as well.

One question that has been posed quite a bit during the past several weeks is this: “Why is there such fear over catching COVID-19 when the statistical chances of requiring hospitalization if it is contracted are relatively low, and the death rate is also extremely low?”
