Serving Him by Serving Others
One of the things I truly love about our congregation is the amazing spirit of genuine love and care for others expressed in so many ways. In fact, I have had anonymous letters asking that the enclosed money be distributed in various ways with the simple message: “Jesus loves you.”
We are currently in the midst of gathering a special collection for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya to help take care of widows and orphans, and the generosity displayed the past few weeks has been outstanding. Now, we have an opportunity to again help with needs at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission just as we did last year. During the next week, Please consider purchasing gifts for boys and girls ages 13-18 or Amazon gift cards To make things easy, use the following link to a wish list page set up by some of our members. All gifts purchased will be shipped directly to their house and they will deliver the gift to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission on December 18.

So what accounts for our desire to help people out in their need? Because we have an amazing God who helped us out in our greatest need and came to be our Savior. Can we help everyone? Obviously not. However, we can prayerfully ask, “Lord, what would You have me do in this situation? What is the best way to serve You by serving others?” As St. Paul once said, “We must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” (Acts 20:35)
Thank you so much for your true Christian care and concern!
